Frequently Asked Questions

So, what kind of camera equipment do you use?

Currently, I'm using Canon equipment. My system now consists of a film Canon 7D and various Canon lens. I use the 600mm IS primarily for birds and wildlife but also have several zoom lens and the 180 mm macro lens. Gitzo has been my tripod of choice over the years and also the Arca ballheads which have lasted very well. I also use the Wimberly head, although sometimes I feel like I'm carrying around the equivalent of an old Buick.

Could you tell me some more about yourself?

I'd be happy to. Why don't you take a look at my About page linked here or at the top of the page?

Where have you been lately?

Most recently, I visited the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador. I've also been to Belize to see the forests around Lamanai and the islands off the coast. I've overlooked the Panama Canal at Canopy Lodge amid Black Howlers and Three-Toed Sloths. I toured Havana, Cuba and saw the wonderful old preserved cars of the 1950s.  I've spent time in Ontario in the northern forests of North America. In the United States, I spent time photographing Scaled Quail and Least Grebes in Texas. And, of course, the swamps of my home in South Carolina. Take a look at some of my photo galleries and see the wildlife I've found.
